Crushing my bones
With your clubs
Or gouging my eyes
With your rubber bullets

Filling my lungs
With your tear-gas
Or demolishing my house
With your bulldozers

Uprooting my thousand-year old
Olive trees
Or destroying my vast orchards
Of orange groves

Blocking me from praying
In my mosques and churches
Or taking away my water
To dry the roses in my tiny garden

Killing me from your planes
Flying above the clouds
Or detaining my body in your prison cells
For years upon years

Won’t make me give in
Or go away

I’m the reminder
Of your grave sins
The memory
Of your eternal curse
The cause
Of your recurring nightmare
The symbol
Of your current disgrace

Look at yourself
In your broken mirror
Look again and you’d see

My blood dripping
From your hands
Around your lips
Baked in your bread
Brewed in your coffee
Sewn in your clothes
Painted on your door

You won’t escape your destiny
You can’t
Neither will I

Your wall shall be your prison
You see
My shackles
Have broken

Despite your iron and threats
Your obscenities and lies

My stone shall always
Be in my hand
More faith than ever
In my heart
And my spirit
Forever free
